Brorphine
Brorphine is a piperidine-based opioid and is a potent μ-opioid agonist.
Drug activists warn of a new synthetic opioid called brorphine on the black market, which has already caused hundreds of fatal overdoses. The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has not yet listed brorphine as a prohibited drug, as it does not have all the tools to identify and study it.
Brorphine first appeared on the market in late 2018 in the midwestern states. Research has shown that the drug is an artisanally developed substance. This is very rare, since all popular drugs are based on legal drugs that were officially invented by pharmaceutical companies.
Then brorfin disappeared from the black market and appeared only in July of this year – first in two Midwestern states, and then throughout the United States.
Experts compare the effect of the potion to fentanyl, but brorphine is more aggressive in the body. For example, several people died in the course of intravenous drug injection. At the time of death, up to 80% of the dose they planned to take remained in their syringes.
The first investigations showed that brorfin is produced in China, namely in the regions that border the Russian Far East.
The drug is a very strong concentrate. This allows drug dealers to import the potion in shipping containers and mail in small doses – up to a quarter of a pound. This amount of the drug minimizes the chances of detection by technology, people or dogs.
According to federal statistics, opioid addiction kills 70,000 to 150,000 Americans every year. The numbers differ due to the large number of substances that have not been officially studied and cannot be diagnosed as Drug Overdose.
