The popular tranquilizer, phenazepam, along with the new designer drug alpha pvp, have been entered into the register of substances subject to special control under the 1961 Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs. The proposal to include phenazepam on this list was made by the Commission on Narcotic Drugs of the UN Office.
Phenazepam and alpha-pvp are far from the only drugs affected by this decision. In addition to them, the list includes five more drugs, namely: opiates MT-45 and acetylfentanyl, artificial para-methyl-4-methylaminorex (4,4′-DMAR) and para-methoxymethyl amphetamine (PMMA), as well as having a strong effect of ketamine methoxetamine (MXE).
The decision to include these drugs in the list of controlled was made by the Commission on the basis of recommendations issued by the World Health Organization Expert Committee on Drug Dependence. This is reported by the press service of the Ministry. If you have problems with drugs, make a call to a narcologist at home to provide a service to remove withdrawals at home or in hospital and get information on further treatment and taking a course at a rehabilitation center for drug addicts.
It is worth noting that some substances from this list, for example, parametoxymethylamphetamine, in the Russian Federation are already classified as addictive narcotic, psychotropic substances and their precursors, over which control must be maintained. As for phenazepam, it is classified as a medicine and is actively used for medical purposes. However, you can buy phenazepam at a pharmacy by prescription only.
According to the Federal Drug Control Service of the Russian Federation, there is no information in Russia that could contribute to the inclusion of phenazepam in the list of substances that need to be controlled. At the same time, the decision to add a drug to this list may adversely affect the use of a tranquilizer by those who really need it.
Viktor Ivanov, head of the Federal Drug Control Service of the Russian Federation, at the same time declares that the circulation of any types of narcotic and psychotropic substances must be kept under control, since the lifting of any prohibitions will instantly lead to a sharp increase in their production and use. He believes that the state should clearly define the position regarding the legalization of certain drugs.
